Amber is a 2-year-old, 50-lb shepherd/hound mix who came to the Humane Society of Memphis & Shelby County in July with third-degree burns on her side from either being set on fire or having hot grease poured on her.
She was also heartworm positive and suffering from internal parasites.
She arrived at the Humane Society in a lot of pain but her temperament never wavered from friendly, calm and loving.
She has a wonderful even keel, and has even been with us on a few outings where she has met many new friends.
She enjoys the company of other friendly dogs. She knows how to sit and shake, and learns other commands quickly, as she is very food-motivated.
